Assigning points/hours

The author determines – depending on the scope, level and length – the length of time and number of points for an article. Of course, this may differ from your effective time spent. After all, the time you take to complete an article depends on your experience, prior education and/or affinity for a topic.

Certificate

Every Up-to-date article is good for at least ½ to 1 point. The points/hours associated with an article are awarded to the certificate of the calendar year in which the articles were published and completed.

So, you must successfully complete the articles relevant to you in the relevant calendar year to be eligible for points/hours. Articles from December that you make in the following year in January are not eligible for FSMA hours/points.

Do you have excess points? No problem! You can enter these and carry them over to the next calendar year. Read the article Certificates obtained elsewhere to find out how to carry over points.

Credits

The Credit domains cover the statutes on Consumer Credit and Mortgage Credit. This is subject to a statutory continuing education requirement of 3 points per module per year.

The Consumer Credit and Mortgage Credit domains both include the General Principles module. The points for the General Principles category will be awarded to both the Consumer Credit and Mortgage Credit domains.

Naturally, if you have activated both domains, you only need to complete the relevant General Principles article correctly once to be awarded those points.

Important
The determination of time/point(s) assumes you study and complete the entire article including appendices, tips and assignments.
